Each year, your benefits may change slightly. These changes are listed in your Annual Notice of Change (ANOC). Here’s what you might see in your ANOC and how to use it.

When to Expect the ANOC

You should have received a copy of the Annual Notice of Changes (ANOC) letter in the mail in September. The ANOC describes benefit and cost-sharing changes that go into effect January 1, 2024.

The ANOC could be fairly large at 15 to 30 pages. But don’t throw it away when it comes. This is your chance to compare your costs and any other changes in your plan from this year to the new plan starting January 1.

Take a careful look at the ANOC. Then you can decide whether your plan still includes the coverage you need, at the costs you can afford.

What You’ll See

The federal government requires that the ANOC be in a standard format. You can expect to see:

  • The Braven Health plan logo and name at the top of each page
  • A table of contents
  • Sections that describe changes to your medical and prescription drug benefits and costs

What to Think About

Near the beginning of your ANOC with the table of contents, there will be a guide on how you can use the information. You’ll want to think about:

  • Are my drugs covered? Covered prescription drugs are organized into different tiers, each with a different cost-sharing amount. Are they still in an affordable pricing tier?
  • Is my pharmacy still in my plan’s network, so my prescriptions filled there are covered?
  • What are the overall changes in what I pay out-of-pocket, including deductible, copays and coinsurance?
  • Are the doctors I want to see and my preferred hospitals still in the plan’s network?

Next Steps

Closely read the section on changes to your benefits and costs for next year. You’ll want to review:

  • Changes to the amounts you pay when you see in-network and out-of-network providers
  • Changes to any extra benefit allowances covered under your plan
  • The maximum total out-of-pocket costs you’ll have to pay in 2024
  • Changes to your list of covered drugs – also known as the plan’s formulary. Visit BravenHealth.com/members/prescription-drug-information to search for covered drugs or call Braven Health Customer Service to request that a copy of the 2024 Formulary be mailed to you.
  • Changes to your plan’s network, including covered pharmacies, doctors and hospitals. Visit BravenHealth.com/find-doctor to search for providers in our network.

Go over the ANOC to see if your plan is still meeting your needs for 2024. The Annual Enrollment Period is from October 15 until December 7. That’s when you can make changes to your plan if you need to.
